“I am not from here” says Sun Ra - “I am from Saturn.”

 

Whilst Sun Ra’s music provides a “way out” - an “escape route” - to get “outta here” (Planet Earth) - to where? - “outta space” - one must ask, to where?

 

Sun Ra’s music offers - “sonic tones and codes of vibration” - carefully arkestrated (orchestrated) - to ‘elevate’ the 'Mind' / 'Consciousness' - of an Individual.

 

But it is not for everyone.

 

The ‘entry-point’ into Sun Ra’s music requires an individual to have a ‘certain type of Spirit,’ one that is open to ‘higher dimensional energies’ - one that is seeking more than the 'mundane' that Earth has to offer.  Thus, they are seeking a way “outta here” (out of the 'mundane') and into - “outta space” - the 'infinite space-field' - called ‘Mind.’

 

A ‘certain type of Spirit’ - to have the ability, to allow the ‘Spirit’ to move through the physical body and ‘express’ itself - or at the very least, to have an appreciation for this ‘Expression of Spirit.’

 

When being interviewed in 1987 - Sun Ra describes the process of ‘vetting’ band members for the Sun Ra Arkestra, which he continually reminds us was not his Arkestra, but that of 'Higher Intelligent Beings.' 

 

Some musicians would make it into the band, others would have to leave, unable to grasp the unconventional style of the - “sonic tones and codes of vibration” -

 

Unconventional - because it did not follow the structures and pathways laid out by the world, those that could be found in music books and schools -

 

Conventional - to the ‘Spirit of Things’ - only those who could be moved by the ‘Spirit’ could play in this 'Intergalactic Arkestra / Band.'

 

Spirituality runs through the work of Sun Ra and (his) Arkestra - when one considers Human Consciousness and its place in the 3rd dimension as an entity trying to evolve to its next evolutionary step, beyond the ‘mundane’ systems, structures and pathways that are prevalent on this Planet.

 

These systems, structures and pathways, lay in the path of Human Consciousness, resembling that of a snare or a trap, to trap Human Consciousness, which is infinite. 

 

Trap and snare - Human Consciousness in - finite meaningless thoughts, patterns and ways of life - MEANINGLESS - antagonistic to the SPIRIT / SOUL of what it means to be Human - HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS in 3rd Dimensional Existence!

 

So where is there to go?  How do we get “outta here” to “outta space” ?  - We must “Elevate our Minds!” - Meditate! - Contemplate! - our Existence - Purpose - Why are we here?  Search for something Higher.

 

The music of Sun Ra offers one such way to ‘aid’ the process of elevating one’s state of consciousness - but first one must have the ‘seed of desire’ - ‘planted within their being,’ to then be watered with “sonic tones and codes of vibration,” such as those offered via Sun Ra’s music.

 

There are other ways - to engage in this process (elevating one’s Consciousness) - “one hat certainly does not fit all” - and after all, isn’t the Source of our Being-ness-ness - “Infinite Possibility” - we (some of us) - have, as Sun Ra has put it - “lost our way” -

 

Know this - what ever route you do decide to take to ‘Elevate’ your ‘Mind’ / ‘Consciousness’ - “ALL roads lead back to SOURCE” -

 

So it does not matter where you start or how - since you can start from anywhere, anyhow - there is no right or wrong path - “ALL roads lead back to SOURCE” -

 

Just be clear about where you intend to be - and take a step in that direction - “ALL roads lead back to SOURCE!”
